1.    Memahami makna dalam teks percakapan transaksional dan interpersonal resmi dan berlanjut (sustained) dalam konteks kehidupan sehari-hari.

KOMPETENSI DASAR
1.1 Merespons makna dalam percakapan transaksional (to get things done) dan interpersonal (bersosialisasi) resmi dan berlanjut (sustained) secara akurat, lancar dan berterima yang menggunakan ragam bahasa lisan dan melibatkan tindak tutur mengusulkan, meminta, dan memberi perintah.

   Here are some more  examples of the expressions to make suggestions, request, and     give instructions,  You can apply this expression in your daily life to show that you’re   polite. Repeat after your teacher.

      Making Suggestion
§  You could (might) join the speech contest
§  If I were you, I would take care this dog
§  Why don’t you go to the doctor ?
2.    Requesting
§  Would you mind passing me the salt, please ?
§  Could you please take me to the dentist ?
§  Can you tell me what happened ?
3.    Giving Instruction
§  You should keep it out of the children’s reach
§  Whatever you do, don’t be nervous
§  Bring me the magazine to me

 Study the dialogue below and then read loudly to build up your confidence and cooperate with your friends to practice in front of the class.
  Anita   :  Hi, Maya. What are you doing ?
  Maya  :  I am reading some stories. You know Mr. Umar asked us to submit the story before we tell it to the class.
  Anita   :  Oh yap, I see. Have got the right one ?
  Maya  :  Actually, I still confuse what kind of the story I will choose, fable, fairy tales, legend to tell.
  Anita   :  I’d like to suggest that you’d better to choose ‘fable’. It is short, simple and easy to understand. 
  Maya  :  It sounds like a good idea. 
                I’ll choose Indonesian’s fable ‘The deer and the crocodile’. Thanks for your suggestion.
  Anita   :  You’re welcome

IV.          LANGKAH –LANGKAH PEMBELAJARAN
a.    Kegiatan Awal (Pendahuluan)
·   Guru datang tepat waktu dan memastikan bahwa setiap siswa datang tepat waktu (disiplin)
·   Guru mengucapkan salam dengan ramah kepada siswa ketika memasuki ruang kelas (santun, peduli)
·   Menegur siswa yang terlambat dengan sopan (disiplin, santun, peduli)
·   Mengabsen/mengecek kehadiran siswa (disiplin, rajin)
·   Memberikan gambaran terhadap ungkapan suggestion, request dan giving instruction (kreatif, logis)
b.    Kegiatan Inti
1.    Eksplorasi
·  Siswa memperhatikan ungkapan dalam power point slide ungkapan meminta dan memberi saran (kreatif, kritis, berfikir logis)
·  Siswa menjawab pertanyaan yang berkaitan dengan dialog ungkapan meminta dan memberi saran (kerjasama, saling menghargai)
2.    Elaborasi
·    Guru meminta siswa untuk melengkapi dialog tentang cara meminta dan memberi saran secara berpasangan (kreatif, percaya diri, logis, saling memnghargai)
·  Guru meminta siswa untuk mempraktekkan dialog di depan kelas secara berpasangan (kerjasama, saling menghargai, tanggung jawab)
3.    Konfirmasi
·   Guru memberikan rangkuman materi terhadap ungkapan cara meminta dan memberi saran dari berbagai macam sumber (percaya diri, logis, kritis)
·  Guru memberikan acuan terhadap siswa agar dapat membuat percakapan ungkapan cara meminta dan memberi saran (kritis, percaya diri)
·   Guru memberikan motivasi kepada peserta didik yang kurang atau belum berpartisipasi aktif dalam membuat ungkapan cara meminta dan memberi saran (peduli, percaya diri)
c.    Kegitan Akhir (Penutup)
·    Guru dan siswa membuat rangkuman /kesimpulan ungkapan cara meminta dan memberi saran (mandiri, kerjasama, kritis, logis)
·  Guru melakukan  penilaian post test dalam bentuk test  tertulis secara berpasangan (jujur, mengetahui kelebihan dan kekurangan)

3. Write transactional/interpersonal dialogue containing expression of giving and responding suggestion based the following situation! Does it hardly like you do it in your life!
  • You and yur friend are waiting for a bus. You have been waiting nearly three quarters of an hour. You suggest taking a taxi.
  • Your friend has read a new story book. You ask your friend to retell the story to you.
  • You have been out with your friend to a party. You are returning with him to his house. He discovers he has lots his key and can’t get in. You suggest opening a window.

 KUNCI JAWABAN
A.   Teacher          : My advice you should take a private course so your English become good and fluently
      Student          :  What if my mother says you shouldn’t take a private course
      Teacher         :  Then follow your mother’s advice
      Student          :  But I want to take a private course
      Teacher         :  That’s why you must practice your English every day
